Overview

Travelling to the icy desert of Ladakh is truly an adventure like none other. From its breath-taking monasteries to its beautiful lakes and hidden villages, this region of India has a lot to offer. Experience a unique journey through Turtuk Village – the last `inhabited` village in Northern Ladakh and neighbouring towns such as Leh, Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake and more. Journey along roads surrounded by stunning high mountain passes with glaciers all around you while soaking up the beauty of quaint yet vibrant cultures waiting for you at each corner. Not only will you get ample opportunities to take some amazing pictures but also discover why everyone before us fell in love with these majestic lands and priceless views!

Itinerary

  • Arrive in Leh in the morning Our representative will meet, greet, assist and transfer you to Hotel in Leh. Half a day of rest for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft / 3500 meters). Evening short sightseeing of Shanti stupa, Leh palace, and Market. Overnight at a hotel in Leh.

  • After breakfast, drive to a full day excursion to Sangam View where Indus & Zanskar river meets. You may opt for a river rafting (own cost), Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Drive back to visit Spituk Monastery – home for the wish fulfilling Kali Mata and Hall of fame – a war memorial Museum.  Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

  • After a leisurely morning breakfast drive to Nubra valley (The valley of flowers) via Khardung la, (18300feet) considered as one of the highest motor able road in the World. The view from top of the passes is amazing. One can see all the way south over the Indus valley to the seemingly endless peaks. After explores we drive toward the down Hunder past an area of rolling sand dunes, one can see double hump Camel and visitors can take a camel safari (Own cost) here. Dinner and overnight in nubra valley.

  • After breakfast, drive to Turtuk (which was first opened for tourists in 2010) which is a place Annexed by India only after the 1971 war, the village of Turtuk is one of the only Balti villages in India and lies right next to the LOC. The village with the whole population of Muslims still resembles mini-Pakistan. The village’s inhabitants still use traditional utensils which are crafted from stone. Explore the village of Turtuk the village offers views of a beautiful valley, part of Shyok Valley. On clear days you can have a glimpse of K2 Mountain peak located across the border in Pakistan. Return to Hundar by the evening.

After breakfast at the hotel we drive to the next destination, Pangong lake via Shyok and onto Tangtse and Spangmik (Pangong). Just a few Kms drive from Hunder, visit Disket Monastery and later continue your drive towards Pangong, the road follows the Shyok river, and climbs up a mountain before finally descending into Shayok village, the entire setting being very picturesque. Afternoon we reach at Pangong lake and enjoy your day at pangong lake and observe the majestic Lake. Overnight stay in Cottages/camps.

During early morning, you can enjoy a photo-session around the lake. Post breakfast drive to Leh via Changla pass you will reach leh by noon. On the way visit Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Gompa and Rencho School. Relax and Stay overnight at the hotel.
